When art is valued it can penetrate the soul. Souls need to be penetrated in order for the world to change. History is one of the key elements that makes an art piece valuable. My art embodies the history of memory and discovery through personal post traumatic growth. During the late 1980s to early 1990s in America there was a war on drugs. During that war on drugs many men with entrepreneurial passions, that saw no way out of the ghettos for themselves participated in drug trafficking. Many of these men became casualties to this underworld leaving behind them a tragedy. There is not much conversation or documentation about what has happened after the tragic death of these men, what happened to their children? Through my art I share not only my testimony but the triumphant testimony of many of the children that have healed and are healing after this tragic epidemic.
