Born in Gadsden, Alabama but raised in Riverside California since 3 months old, Nesha began writing and producing at the young age of 9 years old. While in her 4th-grade class learning about African American history she began to become interested in various stories of Black heroes and wanted to share the knowledge she had come across through playwriting. With the support of her 4th-grade teacher and a petition signed by various teachers after pitching the play idea to her principal, Nesha wrote her first screenplay for Ridge Crest Elementary in Moreno Valley CA. She produced the play bringing together her classmates as actors and used her own clothes for costumes putting on the school’s first black history assembly. With a childhood dream for making many more stories come to life through writing, film, and theatre Nesha attended the Los Angeles Film School after graduating from Polytechnic High School in Riverside CA.
While earning a film science degree at the Los Angeles Film school Nesha studied screenwriting structure, cinematography, camera operating, and sound. Though she had gained plenty of knowledge on how to work on Hollywood industry sets, her first job out of college was far from the Hollywood dream. Nesha worked at a Los Angeles call center for 2 years with coworkers who had broken dreams, inquired about biblical understanding and desired inspiration. The conversations she had with coworkers and clients over the phone birthed the production company Nesha Wonderland Productions.
Nesha founded and launched Nesha Wonderland Productions; a multimedia entertainment production company on May 1, 2017. Nesha Wonderland Productions is project-based and focused on delivering faith-centered art and communication experiences injected with prayer, empowerment, entertainment, and education for women globally 25-60. The company motto is we pray, we empower, we entertain, and we educate the masses!
During June 2018, Nesha wrote, produced, and performed her hit, multimedia one-woman show Healing: After The Tragedy, alongside the award-winning director, Jessica Lynn Johnson. Showcasing her own recovery in the aftermath of her father’s murder, Nesha’s production reveals the hardships unique to children in America who lose a parent to violence. In the one-woman show Healing: After The Tragedy, Nesha illustrates in a poetic way her immersive journey of overcoming trauma through faith and self-reflection. Nesha Wonderland Productions also released season 1 of the podcast Why Pray during 2018 on iTunes and Soundcloud based on Nesha sharing prayer and how to meditate using Bible scriptures.
During the year of 2019 Nesha Wonderland Productions independently published and released Nesha’s autobiographical/devotional book about transforming into a Proverbs 31 woman on Amazon. Nesha also advocates for helping mentor young girls towards living their dreams, she has worked as an ambassador at Marching Beauties; a Los Angeles non-profit, youth organization mentoring teenage girls in urban Black and Brown Los Angeles communities. Nesha has spoken at women empowerment events and taught workshops on building healing habits to young teen girls for the non-profit organization Ebony Pink and Pearls. Currently, Nesha is writing more books to adapt into films while also creating original digital series and living happily married in Hollywood, California.
