We live in an era where performance art in its many forms is not valued. As artists we are trained by the world to believe our art should be free. It is considered daring to have the audacity to believe that you can perceive that your work is valuable. When art is valued it can penetrate the soul. History is one of the key elements that makes an art piece valuable. My art embodies the history of memory and discovery through personal growth. My show Healing: After the Tragedy tackles the perplex history that we have now come to know of the remnants of African American children who lost their fathers in the war on drugs that searched for financial freedom through drug trafficking in the early 1990's. Utilizing Christian spirituality elements from the black church, transparent immersive self-reflection and artistic mediums such as visual media, music, and acting to give a voice to the voiceless.
